Thomas Radwinter is only accepting very ordinary commissions now, having promised his wife he'd never put himself in danger again, especially as his family is increasing. He takes on a search for an elderly lady who's gone missing, and promises to help a dear friend to find the answer to the mystery of her missing husband - was he swept away in a terrible storm ten years ago, or did something else happen to him, or did he walk away from her and his beloved daughter. Thomas has his own problem - an annoying double keeps getting in trouble - and in drunken fights. Things escalate for Thomas when he's involved in an accident with a flying cow... and what is the mystery of the White House Hotel?
