Chris Bernstorf has carved a singular trail for himself in the literary world. Eschewing virtually every traditional literary avenue post-college, he instead opted to tour like a punk band and self-release his books and albums of poetry, which have achieved a physical circulation in the thousands and a streaming count in the hundred thousands. Through hundreds of performances across the globe in every conceivable venue from punk spaces to metal shows to living rooms to abandoned buildings to colleges to the occasional bathroom, Chris has developed a unique performance style that seeks to eliminate the traditional boundaries between audience and listener and instead invite everyone in the room into a shared experience. His poems are at once raw, visceral, honest, and warm, ready at every moment to both plumb the darkness of the world and point to the light. His poetry short films, which he makes with his wife, have screened across the globe as well. Some Of The Most Beautiful Things I Know, a line taken from the poem "Phonecalls at 3am" by Christian Welch, collects some of Chris' most well-known works, offering a strong introduction to his catalogue for the uninitiated and a great mixtape for those who already enjoy his work.
