A much older Charlie Bird, now a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War struggling with deep anger, also finds himself impossibly in the boots of his Iraq warrior counterpart and steps into a replay of the events leading to another double homicide, this time in Iraq, and with him as the accused. By turns grim, humorous, thrilling, appalling and in the end, redeeming.
