However, the guilt of what they have done begins to manifest as a psychological torment, the image of their young victim haunts them, appearing wherever they turn as a constant reminder of their transgression. As the atmosphere of dread intensifies, the boys find themselves under the scrutiny of the law, specifically Detective Rudy Words, who is diligently working to piece together the case. The narrative follows their unravelling as they struggle to hide their secret while the investigation closes in around them.
