Sky-Slum Serenade

In the Sky-Slums of a future Hong Kong, former Corporate Authority enforcer Siu-Lung has spent four years trying to disappear, haunted by the crackdown that killed his wife, Ah-Lam, and by his own part in the system that caused it. When Mei-Ling, a young muralist and organizer, is arrested for sabotage, Siu-Lung knows the charge is false and begins searching for proof of her innocence. What he uncovers is larger than one false arrest: the Authority is preparing to clear 30,000 people from their homes to explore the rare-earth minerals beneath the platforms. With Mei-Ling's hearing approaching and his former colleagues closing in, Siu-Lung must return to the world he abandoned, expose the truth about Ah-Lam's death, and confront the truth about his own past. His attempt to save one woman becomes a choice between remaining the ghost he has made of himself and risking everything to expose the Authority and give the people of the Sky-Slums a chance to remain.
