Sirena

Deep within the darkest reaches of the ocean lies Chrysos, a hidden golden kingdom untouched by the human world. There, Sirena has spent her life as a mermaid princess, protected by her parents, surrounded by those she loves, and raised beneath one unbreakable rule: never go to the surface.Sirena has always been taught that humans are savage creatures. They tear apart the land, wage violent wars against one another, trap sea creatures with spears, hooks, and nets, and cross the oceans in enormous vessels that destroy everything in their path. Humans are not to be trusted. They are to be feared. But when a growing threat from the surface begins to endanger Chrysos and the creatures of the sea, Sirena learns that she is the only one capable of stopping it.To save her kingdom, the sheltered princess must do the one thing she has been warned against her entire life: leave the deepest ocean, journey to the surface, and enter the world of humans.Even worse, she must become one of them.Stripped of her tail and forced into an unfamiliar human body, Sirena must face a world she has been taught to fear. Then disaster strikes.Sirena awakens in a hospital with no memory of Chrysos, her family, or even her own name. The humans call her Jane, but the ocean continues to pull at something buried deep inside her. A mysterious gold coin necklace, strange dreams beneath the waves, and an impossible connection to the creatures around her suggest that the life she has forgotten is still waiting to be found.Caught between two worlds, Sirena must uncover the truth about her past, discover who she was sent to become, and find her way back to the kingdom that is depending on her.Because somewhere beneath the deepest ocean, the mers of Chrysos is waiting for their princess to come home.
