Silent Ballot: An Agent Conway Novel Series: 1

SILENT BALLOTAn Agent Conway Thriller - Book OneThe vote is safe. The man behind it isn't.Six weeks before the most consequential primary debate in a generation, CIA officer Conway Booth flags a wire transfer that shouldn't exist - a shell company in Macau, moving money that has no business crossing an ocean. It should be nothing. A footnote. The kind of anomaly a careful officer logs and forgets. It isn't nothing. The trail leads home - through a maze of shell companies, a dark-money nonprofit no one can explain, and a domestic extremist cell that believes, with total sincerity, that it's fighting for a cause. What none of them know is who's really pulling the strings: a patient, brilliant Chinese intelligence officer who has spent eighteen months turning genuine conviction into a weapon - aimed squarely at a presidential candidate Beijing cannot afford to see in the White House. As Conway races to expose the conspiracy before it reaches its target, investigative journalist Jane Hartford is chasing the same story from the outside - close enough to the truth to become a target herself. Together, they're the only two people positioned to see the full picture before an election, and possibly a country, gets rewritten by a hand no one else can see.Foreign money. Domestic rage. An election with everything on the line.Silent Ballot is a blistering, meticulously researched political thriller in the tradition of Tom Clancy and Vince Flynn - a story about the fragile line between conviction and manipulation, and the officers, analysts, and reporters standing quietly in the gap between a free election and a foreign hand determined to end one.If you like ripped-from-the-headlines geopolitical stakes, morally serious heroes, and thrillers that move as fast as the news cycle they're inspired by, you'll tear through Silent Ballot in a single sitting.Book One of a new series from Richard Peterson. Author of the Concordia Initiative Series.
