Short Stories and Puzzles from Those Years

A gift to share: short stories of everyday life in the UK in the 1950s, 60s and 70s and, after every story, its own puzzles. The television next door, Saturday morning pictures, the corner grocer's, the Sunday roast… Each chapter opens with a short story that takes only a few minutes to read and makes you want to share memories of your own. Then come three puzzles on the same theme: wordsearches, crosswords, sudoku, mazes, proverbs in code… They are not questions about the story: they are puzzles to enjoy at your own pace. Every story ends with a question headed “Something to talk about” for a chat with children and grandchildren. Large print, properly: nothing smaller than 16 point, black on white, with room to write. No puzzle depends on colour. All the solutions at the back. 16 stories · 48 puzzles with solutions · black-and-white interior. A book for reading and entertainment: it is not a diagnostic test or a treatment.
