Bol Tony Iley looks at the development of the working dog - focusing on the Collie - before describing the pup and its early training through to being a working dog. As a shepherd who has competed at trials for many years his chapter on trials is very illuminating. He also describes what to look out for in the breeding and selection of a dog. This book will be a delight, not just to those who are interested in sheep-dog trials, but anyone who wants a better insight into the wonderful relationship between a dog and his owner.
