SHADOW ME Znail Valley Book 2

When the sun dips low over Znail Valley, Lee the snail notices something strange - a dark shape sliding across the grass, matching every move. It stretches, shrinks, and won't go away. Terrified, Lee hides inside their drumshell until a soft golden light flickers through the dusk. It's Flicker the firefly, who helps Lee discover that the scary shape isn't a monster at all - it's Lee's own shadow. With gentle humor and glowing illustrations, Shadow Me blends science and emotional learning to show that fear often fades when we shine light on it. As Flicker explains how shadows form, Lee learns that what feels frightening can be understood, explored, and even laughed about. Soon, the two are making shadow puppets and filling the night with joy instead of worry. The second book in the Znail Valley series, Shadow Me helps children ages 4-8 explore fear, courage, and curiosity through both emotional and scientific lenses. Perfect for parents, teachers, and counselors, it encourages kids to ask questions, notice the world around them, and see how light-and understanding-can change everything.A short reflection at the end invites readers to talk about what shadows are and how fears can feel smaller once we shine a little light on them.Luminous, heartfelt, and quietly clever, Shadow Me is a comforting reminder that sometimes, what we fear most is simply the unknown waiting to be seen.
