Servant Leadership for Local Church Growth and Societal Transformation

In this publication the author will discuss the critical significance of servant leadership in the Church and society. The author will advance the position that leadership in church should emulate the model set by Jesus Christ himself. The paper begins with a brief definition of leadership and the functions of leadership. Then the author zeroes in on servant leadership and characteristics of effective Christian leaders. Christian discipleship is then discussed followed by church - state relations and church and politics. The author posits that leadership and church ministry ought to engage with the society for impact. Towards the end of this article, the author emphasizes the critical role trust plays in the life of the leader. Eight pillars of trust are then described.
