Mrs. Piss is een nieuwe samenwerking tussen Chelsea Wolfe en Jess Gowrie. Op basis van de rock, metal en industriële invloeden van beide artiesten, begon dit project al in 2017 toen de twee samen aan het touren waren tijdens Wolfe's Hiss Spun-album. Het resultaat is hun debuutalbum Self-Surgery, dat werd opgenomen in The Dock Studio in Sacramento, CA en in Wolfe's thuisstudio, The Canyon. Chelsea Wolfe op zang / gitaar en Jess Gowrie op drums, gitaar, bas, programmering. Deze nummers voelen urgenter en raken harder, dan alles wat ze ooit hebben gemaakt: heftigheid, met een punk spirit. “It was freeing and fun to channel some wild energies that I don’t typically put into my own music. We tried not to overthink the songs as we were writing them, but at the same time we did consciously put a lot into crafting them into our own weird sonic vision.
