Seasons of a Writer

In her first collection, Seasons of a Writer, Amanda Minniear uncovers the unique exchange between writer and muse. The phases of inspiration and drought that writers experience succumb to an ultimatum: write it down anyway. Finding herself through the ups and downs of poetic expression, she finds inspiration beneath oak trees at daybreak or along the shores of the Gulf. Through elements of nature, Minniear reminds us that writing is a process. Similar to propagating plants for future growth, as we challenge our changing desires, we root ourselves in who we are. Inspired by contemporary poets like Mark Strand, Rupi Kaur, and Mary Oliver, she yearns to inspire poets to find their voice. Writing is vulnerable- it takes patience, practice, and possibly delusion. Sometimes, holding your favorite pen in your hand can spark a fire in you.
