Scottie's Brave New World: A Period Tale

One girl. One unexpected moment. One story that reminds girls they are not alone. It was supposed to be the best summer ever. Scottie was spending the day at the pool with her friends, enjoying the sunshine and everything that makes summer fun. But when something unexpected happened, Scottie realized her body was changing in a way she didn't understand. Suddenly, she found herself asking the same questions many girls have when they get their first period. With the help of her mom, Scottie learned that what she was experiencing was a natural part of growing up-and that understanding her body could turn a confusing moment into one of confidence and reassurance. Written by young author Scotlynn Nicole at age fourteen and inspired by the true story of her own first period at age eleven, Scottie's Brave New World: A Period Tale helps young readers approach this important milestone with honesty, understanding, and the comforting reminder that they are not alone.
