Scientific Research in Sports

This textbook discusses the principles and nature of scientific research conducted in the field of physical culture, the methods used in the research process of sports problems, the main stages and their sequence in scientific research, starting from the correct choice of research direction, formulation of the topic, definition of the purpose and tasks of the undertaken research, and ending with the analysis and generalization of collected scientific data.Special attention is paid to the technique of collecting, accumulating, and systematizing materials of scientific research, in which beginning scientists usually make many errors. Techniques for collecting and analyzing data from athletes' competitive activities, methods of observing the educational-training process, and methods for diagnosing the functional state of an athlete's body during training and competitive activities are considered.
