Sardines and Silk: Death Deceit in Boothbay Harbor

Boothbay Harbor, Maine in 1910 is a thriving hub for the sardine canning industry. Every young woman in the region spends her days slaving away on the packing or saucing line. Gideon Carson the greed driven owner is up to some kind of no good after hours. Many more crates than what contain sardines leaves the loading docks on a regular basis. Young girls who work the cannery and the local brothel are washing up in the harbor drained of their blood and dead as a hake. Effie determined to leave the sardine world behind and become a doctor teams up with Doc Barlow to get to the bottom of it all. When she discovers who or what is behind all these killings, she finds herself caught up in a a realm beyond the imagination. A world of love and also of heartbreak.
