Regrowth is the debut full-length album by Brisbane producer and DJ Sampology, released in 2021 on Middle Name Records. It sits at the intersection of electronic, house, jazz and soul, weaving live instrumentation with programmed beats to create a lush, cinematic sound world that reflects his roots in future jazz and deep house. The record’s title and concept are inspired by the aftermath of Australia’s catastrophic bushfires, using music as a metaphor for renewal and ecological healing, with part of the proceeds supporting reforestation efforts. Building on his earlier EPs, Sampology uses Regrowth to showcase a mature, highly textured production style, recording his own samples rather than relying on existing material. Across the album he brings together string quartets, woodwinds, choirs, vibraphones, double bass, pianos and synths, achieving a warm, organic feel that still moves with dancefloor energy. The result is a soulful, forward-thinking electronic album that flows between downtempo atmospheres and rhythm-driven passages, highlighting his progression as a composer and producer and marking Regrowth as a distinctive entry in contemporary electronic and jazz-influenced music.
