Sailing Toward a Hopeful Future: Canadians Leading the Way

Given the unpredictable nature of sea-level rise and weather events, the unknown effects of adaptation efforts, and the uncertain responses of individuals and communities...developing meaningful human connections might be the most critical challenge of all.In Sailing Toward a Hopeful Future: Canadians Leading the Way, seven colleagues collaborate to address the challenges of sea-level rise while navigating a shifting, complex political environment.Readers are invited to join the voyage aboard RV Smart Ports, a vessel designed for learning, exploring, and enjoying the magnificent natural world in the coastal wonderland of beautiful British Columbia, and observe as this diverse team works together, utilizing each other's strengths and accepting one another's differences, to support coastal communities adapting to sea-level rise. Along the way, they embody something rarely observed: how the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts.
