When Dora and Dick Carlson, lifelong New Yorkers, give up their Manhattan home to move to the picturesque port town of Ilwaco in Southwest Washington State, the only mystery Dick (a well-known criminologist) intends to solve is the question of what to do with himself. As the new owner of the Sahalee Inn, Dora, meanwhile, can't wait to live out her dream of owning a charming inn-housed in a repurposed historic church. Soon, however, the couple find themselves relying on their bloodhound, Watson, to help confront an unwelcome host of criminals, ghosts, and bats in the belfry.
