Revelation: The Elephant in Our Midst: A Layperson Study Guide

Why did God give us a book meant to reveal Jesus Christ, then wrap it in so much mystery that most Christians are afraid to open it?Revelation: The Elephant in Our Midst grew out of a promise made to two curious daughters and years of dedicated study by a devoted layperson, not a seminary scholar. With four competing interpretive views of Revelation and three traditional views of the millennium, even Bible scholars cannot agree on how to read it. This study guide steps around the debate entirely.Rather than chasing Old Testament prophecy fulfillment like most commentaries do, author John Farringer traces Revelation back to the New Testament teachings of Paul, John the Apostle, and Timothy, the very men who shaped the seven churches that first received this vision. The result is a guide built on teachings those original readers would have actually recognized, free of academic jargon and interpretive gatekeeping.Designed for personal reflection or small-group Bible study, each lesson walks readers through Revelation's visions with clarity and reverence, without requiring you to pick a side in the millennium debate. This is not a book about predicting the end times. It is an invitation to encounter Jesus Christ more intimately through the most avoided book in Scripture. If Revelation has ever felt like an elephant too large to grasp, this guide offers a way to finally see the whole picture.
