Rethink Engineering: Revolutionize the way you make decisions

Rethink Engineering: Revolutionize the way you make decisions challenges one of the profession's deepest assumptions: that technical excellence alone leads to good engineering. With clarity, conviction, and real-world insight, Dr. Salado reveals that the true core of engineering lies in judgment, not calculation. This book invites engineers, systems thinkers, project leaders, and students to rethink how choices are made under uncertainty, how trade-offs are framed, and why many common decision methods fail. Drawing from decision theory without overwhelming the reader in mathematics, the book offers a powerful new lens for understanding engineering as a discipline of purpose, value, and choice. Provocative, practical, and intellectually transformative, this is more than a book about making better decisions. It is a book about becoming a better engineer.
