Retaliation I: Holding Court in the Streets

Retaliation I: Holding Court in the StreetsWhen the streets raise you, loyalty is the only law. Most kids in Detroit grow up quick - but Maino didn't get a choice. With a mother lost to addiction and a younger sister who needed him more than anyone, Maino stepped into manhood before he ever had the chance to be a child. The only steady presence he had was his older brother, Bro - a man who made it out the streets and into legitimate business. Nightclubs. Construction. Clean money. Clean distance. But distance doesn't break blood. When their young cousin is kidnapped and held for $150,000 ransom, everything changes. The threat is real: Pay up or lose him. The motive is personal: Payback for a violation Maino once prevented, and a man who never let the memory go.Some wounds don't heal. Some men don't forget. Some revenge doesn't wait. Now Bro moves through business connections while Maino moves through the streets - each fighting from different angles, each carrying the same unspoken fear: What if they're too late?In the middle of the search, Maino comes face-to-face with his mother - a ghost of the woman she used to be. Skin and bones. Lost in her own world. He tries to pull her back for his sister's sake... but some people drown even while you're holding their hand. This isn't a story about revenge for pride. This is a story about protecting what's left.About family, loyalty, and the lines we cross when we have nothing else to lose.Retaliation I is the beginning of a raw, emotional, and unfiltered journey through the realities of the Detroit streets - where choices echo, sins return, and retaliation isn't anger... it's survival. For Readers Who Love: - Real Detroit-based urban storytelling- Family loyalty & revenge arcs- True-to-life street characters- Gritty emotional drama- Ashley & JaQuavis - K'wan - Teri Woods - Shannon Holmes
