A gripping military thriller about war, fatherhood, and the cost of survivalBy Simon JonesSome battles never end. Some consequences can't be escaped.Repercussions is a powerful and emotionally charged military thriller that explores the lasting impact of war and the impossible choices faced by those left behind.Peter Laing is a former British soldier who has spent years trying to bury a violent incident from the Gulf War. He has built a quiet life, far from conflict, believing the past is finally behind him. But when his son is captured during a military operation in Iraq, Peter is forced to confront everything he tried to forget.Driven by guilt, fear, and a father's instinct to protect his child at any cost, Peter returns to a war zone alone. As he navigates hostile territory, armed militias, and political indifference, he realises the war never truly ended for him. Every decision carries consequences, and survival comes at a price that may be higher than he can afford.Darkly honest and unflinching, Repercussions delivers a realistic portrayal of modern warfare, psychological trauma, and the enduring bond between father and son. This is not a glorified war story. It is a tense, character-driven novel about responsibility, regret, and the long shadow of violence.
