Lorin Stone survived the raging waters of the San Pedro River. Finding his way home may prove to be the greater challenge. As Quail Creek recovers from the devastating storm, Lorin is battered, injured, and far from the people who have begun to matter to him. With the help of unexpected strangers, he begins the long journey back toward the town he has come to think of as home. But Quail Creek has troubles of its own.Missing livestock, damaged property, and increasingly deliberate acts of violence leave little doubt that someone is targeting the community. As the danger grows, so does an unsettling possibility: the trouble may not be about Quail Creek at all.It may be about Lorin. For a man who spent years believing he had nothing left to lose, Quail Creek has given Lorin something he never expected to find again-people he cares about and a place where he might belong. Now, the past he has tried to outrun threatens not only his future, but the lives of those who welcomed him.Set against the rugged landscape of Arizona Territory, Reckoning in Quail Creek is a story of loyalty, sacrifice, community, and the difficult choices that come with finding a place worth calling home. Some reckonings cannot be avoided.
