The late Ronnie James Dio is immortal in the annals of Heavy Metal history not only because he was a multi-platinum artist and the lead singer of three of the greatest bands the genre has ever offered: Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio but also because he is responsible for bringing the now standard devil horns sign to a whole legion of metal fans. Formed by ace rock vocalist Ronnie James Dio in 1982, alongside drummer Vinnie Appice, following the pair's joint departure from Black Sabbath, DIO released ten studio albums and had numerous line-up changes over the years, with Dio himself being the only constant member. The group dissolved in 2010 when Ronnie James sadly died at the age of 67. Ronnie James Dio has sold more than 50 million records worldwide.
