Quiet Talks on Power

The strength to live for Christ begins with a life surrendered to Him.In Quiet Talks on Power, S. D. Gordon explores the Holy Spirit's role in the believer's life. Through eight connected talks, rich in Scripture and memorable illustrations, he examines what hinders spiritual fruitfulness, what surrender to Christ involves, and how God works through ordinary people who yield to Him.Quiet Talks on Power can help you: - - Recognize habits and attitudes that hinder your usefulness to God.- Understand the Holy Spirit's role as your personal Guide, Comforter, and source of strength.- Deepen your fellowship with God through prayer, Scripture, and obedience.- Face temptation with greater dependence on Christ.- Grow in love for others and courage to share the gospel.Gordon brings these truths into the daily responsibilities of home, work, and Christian service. His invitation is both searching and encouraging: place every part of your life under Christ's direction, and learn to depend on the Spirit who equips you to live faithfully and lead others to our Savior.
