Bol This study aims to investigate the psychological and social effects of long-term unemployment on Ivorian higher education graduates. Twelve (12) first-time jobseekers took part in the survey by completing the short form of the Beck Depression Inventory. An analysis of the data collected does not suggest the presence of a severe depressive syndrome in most of these young people, who generally have a positive self-image. However, in isolated cases, signs of depressive feelings were observed to varying degrees among the participants. These young people generally receive support from their families and friends and are implementing strategies to cope with this situation.
