Praying the Angels- Angels

After a retreat devoted to a call to consecration, an unexpected encounter with a priest questioning his vows prompts Ilona Grace to withdraw into forty days of silence.Rarely confessional, never apologetic, written in solitude and love, Praying the Angels is a journal of vision, poetry and prayer. Scripture, nature, psychology, liturgy and daily life converse with God. Masculine and feminine, horizontal and vertical, body and spirit, authority and freedom meet-not as opposites to be resolved, but as mysteries to be contemplated and lived. With poetic intensity and theological honesty, Praying the Angels is a distinct feminine voice in contemporary Catholic mysticism-ancient and new at once. Deeply rooted in the Church's sacramental imagination, it invites the reader into a via orationis-a way of prayer and a way to pray.
