Possibility & Promise: Echoes of the Unknown

So... you want old Boris to tell you a story, hmm? A story with a bit of science fiction and a bit of fantasy, eh? Heh. Well... I've got just the one for you, little one. Trevek, this is my home. But be warned... it's no place of peace and harmony. No. This is my charred obsidian wasteland. A dangerous world full of strange technology and deeper history. Folks come here looking for wealth, for power... for opportunity. Some call me a madman for staying, but what most can't, or won't, see... I look upon every day. There is beauty in the void, you know. You just need to know where to look. I've made good friends here. My little Miku Amarah... my precious Luna... They brought life back into these old bones. I was fortunate to find them in the state they were in, showed up just in the nick of time. Our meeting was fateful, no doubt about that. Together, we stumbled onto something profound. Something ancient. A cosmic presence trying to reclaim its place in the universe. But it wasn't all dark and dreary. No, no. There were moments... real ones. Moments where we felt truly alive. We forged bonds unbroken, shared in whatever laughter we could find out here. I saved them, yes... but truth is, they saved me just as much. Life is brighter now with them around. But I know the day will come when we part ways. They have a home to return to, and I, Boris, will see them through it, wherever it leads. For in these possibilities we've uncovered... I see great promise. Well then... I suppose it's time to press on. Until we meet again, little ones.
