Pop Pop's Bible Adventures: Me Maw's Missions Pie

Me Maw's Missions Pie is a warm and funny story about family, faith, and discovering that everyone can have a part in God's work. When Mama and Dad leave for a two-week mission trip to the Virgin Islands, nine-year-old Ke Ke isn't exactly thrilled. In her mind, they get beaches and palm trees while she gets summer vacation at Pop Pop and Me Maw's house. But everything begins to change in Me Maw's kitchen. While helping Me Maw bake her famous peach pie for the church missions fundraiser, Ke Ke notices something surprising: Me Maw cooks just like Mama! As they measure flour, roll dough, and prepare fresh peaches, Me Maw tells Ke Ke about when Mama was her age-helping visit people in the hospital, taking food to those who were sick or unable to leave home, and learning to care for others. Then Me Maw opens the Bible to Jesus' command to "go and make disciples of all nations" in Matthew 28:19-20.Ke Ke soon discovers that missions isn't only about getting on an airplane or traveling far away. Some people go. Some give. Some pray. Some serve. And sometimes, even a nine-year-old girl and a peach pie can be part of something much bigger.Filled with family warmth, gentle humor, and an age-appropriate biblical lesson, Me Maw's Missions Pie helps children understand that God can use what they have, right where they are.Our Family.
