The book Political Thought: An Interpretative Analysis of Political Ideas from Socrates to Rousseau is a collection of ideas from, interpretatively explain the political ideas of the various political philosophies selected to provide fresh perspectives to students of Political Science and the general reader with a comprehensive view of political thought. As research into the history of ideas expands, there is a continuing need for a well organised knowledge which brings together those ideas which developed over many centuries and from many political environments and settings. The primary purpose of the book is to give the essential aspects of the thoughts of many political theorists and to give their pattern of thoughts, to set them so as to illuminate their significance individually as well as to indicate the influence each one had upon another in the evolution of political thinking. The authors see political philosophy as reflecting on political phenomena and discuss the political philosophy of each of the theorists in terms of its significance and that responds to the conditions of his environment.
