Planets Within

Lisa Eve Cheby offers a unique perspective on our relationship with the cosmos and within our own bodies. Her collection of poems opens with memory and questions how we situate ourselves in time and space. In giving voice to each planet and other celestial bodies, Cheby plays with each one's distinct personality, their physical characteristics, and purpose in the galaxy. In doing so, she also causes us to interrogate how we perceive ourselves and our role in the universe. This collection also celebrates women and our divine right to our own bodies.
