Picking Up Pieces of the Past

Two friends share their many sea glass, pottery, and other historical and unique vintage treasures and artifacts they have found beachcombing and mudlarking together. Beachcombing is generally described as the activity of walking along the shores looking, or "combing," for sea glass, shells, pottery, and other objects of interest or value. Mudlarking can be described as scavenging beaches, riverbeds, and muddy areas for interesting objects, historical artifacts, and other discarded or lost treasures washed ashore or exposed by erosion.Many of the vintage items they find have fascinating histories. They tell a story of past generations, revealing how people lived, as well as the cosmetics, fashion, fragrances, games, toys, food, drink, and household items of the time. Some treasures evoke a sense of nostalgia. Maybe your grandmother or mother had these items in her house. Every trip to the beach is an experience with new finds.
