Phoenix Before the Day of Fire

Long before the Day of Fire, a shadow government prepared for it.In the decades leading up to the end, secret programs flourished beneath the surface of nations and oceans alike-each one devoted to preserving civilization at any cost. Scientists vanished into underground cities. Soldiers were trained for wars that never made the news. Corporations became fronts for a single, hidden agenda: to build a system that could survive the apocalypse-and let humanity endure forever. From Cold War bunkers and deep-sea laboratories to forbidden hospitals and haunted national parks, PHOENIX - Before the Day of Fire reveals the lost history of the organization that shaped the world's future in silence. These are the stories of the architects and the survivors, the believers and the betrayers-the ones who thought they could save us.But every salvation demands a sacrifice. And theirs was the world.
