Paul Cadmus: 49 Tekeningen

A lavish portfolio of never-before-seen erotic drawings by celebrated twentieth-century American artist and gay icon, Paul Cadmus. This 192-page hardcover volume, published by Monacelli Press on 26 September 2024, highlights Cadmus’s masterful draftsmanship and his long-time muse, Jon Anderson, through a body of unknown work that emphasizes the model’s erotic zones. The book presents the material with scholarly context, including an introduction by Graham Steele, an essay by queer-art scholar Richard Meyer, and a moderated discussion with Nash Glynn, Doron Langberg, and Oscar yi Hou, led by Jarrett Earnest. Its sumptuous production and intimate subject matter position this collection as a landmark contribution to queer art history and the study of a major twentieth-century artist.

This elegant volume is packaged in a stamped portfolio envelope, reflecting the eminence of the newly revealed body of work and its significance within Cadmus’s oeuvre.
