I would imagine that P.T. Barnum would be just as famous and infamous today as he was in the 1850's. Barnum said of himself "I am a showman by profession..and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me." It is interesting what we remember him for today. The Barnum and Bailey Circus, wasn't created until he was 61 years old. Barnum was a massive serial entrepreneur. The list of his ventures would fill pages and pages. His failures were infamous. But so was his determination to get back up dust himself off and move on, often to another town. Like entrepreneurs today, he saw ways to get money that others either didn't see or didn't want to put the work in to develop.
