"Out with the New, In with the Old" is about revitalizing communities by building on what already exists. In East Harlem, a neighborhood full of rich culture and history, the goal is to enhance, not replace. The project reactivates underused streets, lots, and public spaces while preserving local character. It serves as a flexible prototype that can be adapted to any town or neighborhood in need of a renewed identity. Through a scattered, decentralized approach, individual programs are spread across a site, gradually guiding people toward a central hub where everything connects and comes alive on a larger, unified scale.
