Obsidian Wings and Silver Thunder

In a world where the sky has permanently fractured into a lifeless "Dead Layer," Kael Ruun survives by scavenging energy cores in the lower districts of Aster Reach, until he begins witnessing strange silver lightning that behaves less like weather and more like an observing intelligence. When one of the recovered energy cores begins to synchronize with this phenomenon, Kael unknowingly becomes linked to an unseen system in the sky that seems capable of recognizing him directly, even speaking his name into his mind. As mysterious drones begin targeting him as an "unregistered anomaly," Kael discovers that reality around him can bend in response to his presence, manifesting a pair of obsidian, wing-like constructs that emerge during moments of danger and alter physical outcomes as if rewriting rules mid-event. The more the sky reacts to him with flashes of intent and recognition, the more Kael realizes he is not simply being watched by a broken atmosphere, but has become a newly identified variable in something far larger-something that is actively updating, classifying, and responding to his existence as if the sky itself is part of a vast, awakening system.
