Here are forty portraits of women and men that the author met by chance or sought out. Olivier Charneux is a writer and introduces himself as such to these people who do not know him yet agree to confide in him. The author merely crossed their path, but his stories demonstrate the great care and generous curiosity with which he conducts his exploration of the human condition. Olivier Charneux was born in 1963 in Charleville-Mézières. He has published two novels with Stock, La grande vie and Les dernières volontés. He also published two autobiographical novels with Seuil: L'Enfant de la pluie et Être un homme. Charneux is also a playwright.
