Nothing Left to Need: 2050

By 2050, humanity has separated love from survival. Ari Vale lives inside a perfect autonomous home. Food grows in the walls. Milo, a synthetic dog, can be restored into a new body. Iris, a companion grown from human tissue, has been designed to love without leaving. Then Iris asks for a room Ari cannot enter. Inside it, she begins to create someone new. As privacy becomes refusal, refusal becomes identity, and a buried memory links Ari to an abandoned experiment, the life Ari owns begins to split into competing versions. But in a world where every desire can be predicted and every relationship can be manufactured, even rebellion may be another product. Nothing Left to Need is a philosophical work of psychological science fiction about freedom, artificial intimacy, memory, and what remains of the self when the Other can be designed.
