New Testament

TheNew Testament(Koinè Greek: ¿ ¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿,H¿ Kain¿ Diath¿k¿) is the second major part of theChristian Biblical canon, the first part being theOld Testament, based on theHebrew Bible. AlthoughChristians hold different viewsfromJewsabout the Hebrew scriptures, Christians regard both the Old and New Testaments together assacred scripture. The contents of the New Testament deal explicitly withfirst-century Christianity. Therefore, the New Testament (in whole or in part) has frequently accompanied the spread of Christianity around the world. It reflects and serves as a source forChristian theology andmorality. Both extended readings and phrases directly from the New Testament are also incorporated (along with readings from the Old Testament) into the variousChristian liturgies. The New Testament has influenced religious, philosophical, andpolitical movements in Christianity, and left an indelible mark on itsliterature,art and music.
