Zijn eerste faam verkreeg de Amerikaanse gitarist/zanger Neal Morse met de progressieve rock formatie Spock's Beard. Later maakte hij ook deel uit van 'supergroups' als Transatlantic en Flying Colors. Met The Neal Morse Band brengt hij tegenwoordig regelmatig nieuwe cd's uit en zijn Morse Fest-live-releases verschijnen ook veelvuldig. Onder de noemer Neal Morse, inmiddels uitgegroeid tot één van de grootste prog rock helden ter wereld, verschijnt nu de 'monumental epic progressive rock opera' " esus Christ The Exorcist" 'to tell the Story of Stories - the Jesus Gospels - in a new way'. Deze release, die als 2cd en 3lp verschijnt en bijna 2 uur duurt, vertelt dus het verhaal over het leven van Jezus Christus van Nazareth. Het is dan ook een soort van 2019-prog rock remake van "Jesus Christ Superstar".
