When Nature Nurtures is a cathartic and evocative book that follows the author's unique encounters with nature. The book features ten short stories, both humorous and sad, but always written with honesty. When Nature Nurtures began its life as a short story written for a writing competition, which the author went on to win. What transpired after inspired her to share more of her nature stories and experiences and thus When Nature Nurtures was created. It follows some of the author’s experiences fishing the tributaries rivers of the Towy, in Carmarthenshire, for the ever-elusive salmon; the collection of a swarm of bees to bring home in a car; a picnic with the prince of the palace; a hazelnut robbery; and a summer’s day trip on a canal boat from the author’s professional experience as a carer. Lizzy writes as she lives, with her heart on her sleeve.
