"My Mother Was a Custer"

The Battle of the Little Bighorn River started on June 25, 1876, and went intoa second day of fighting on June 26th, as Major Reno and Captain Benteenremained dug-in, as best they could, with 7 companies of the 7th Cavalry,survivors of the first day's fighting.This is a writing to help today's people understand George Armstrong Custer.Who he really was as a man and as a military officer during the most crucialtime in our nation's history.As the author, I am seeking truth in all I read, but even my truth and understandingmost likely will not be someone else's truth and understanding. Keep that inmind as you read this and other documents in determining what you think.But I encourage you to research to find your truth and not grab the easy mythswhich are out there for other reasons than truth.
