DAVID J. DOGTEROM was born and raised on a farm east of Lethbridge, Alberta. He went to a small country school (McNally School) and high school in Coaldale, Alberta where his English teacher encouraged him to write everything and anything. Fast forward to 1990 London, Ontario where he was inspired to write a children's Christmas story and subsequently the rhymes for My Friends in the Alphabet Zoo lost but rediscovered in January 2026 and the decision to illustrate and publish was made.
