Mourning Doves is Katherine Eatmon's 8th book of poetry. It was written during her son's, Adam Forever 27, last year of substance use and his subsequent death from a fentanyl overdose. Her poetry is raw and brutal at times but also tender and personal. Katherine shares her deep feelings and her personal journey through grief over losing her only son to the horrific opioid epidemic, and also reminds us of her husband, Oscar Forever 49, and his death from cocaine. Katherine's poetry is emotional, poignant and sometimes whimsical as she shares her life through the use of nature and the skies.
