Mount of Fractured Souls: 2.5

Five years ago, Marcus survived a war he never wanted to be a part of. Survival comes with a price, and he remains haunted by the past and the pieces of lost memories.Tormented by shadows, he takes matters into his own hands and ventures into the forest seeking answers, seeking Darci. What he finds might be more haunting than the past. A dying world, monsters in the shadows, and darkness heavier than any he has ever felt put him on a collision course with disaster. But the tether holding him to Darci pulls harder, and he travels to a mountain with a buried secret. A mountain where anyone who ventures too close is never seen again. Will he find Darci and escape with her? Or will the horrors of his past dig their talons in deeper until there is nothing left but a monster? She may be trapped in the shadowy space between worlds, but he is determined to save her--no matter the cost, even if the darkness consumes him instead. Can redemption and peace come even for the most broken? Mount of Fractured Souls is a dark fantasy with heavy themes of trauma, loss, resentment, and forgiveness. The struggle of keeping hold of oneself in an uncertain world means you either face your monsters or become one. It has an underlying focus on hatred and how it can morph into something you can no longer control if you let it.
