Sherry McKee was married to a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran for 43 years. Together, they spent a lot of time traveling and visiting military museums, often finding them in out of the way plac­es. After she lost her husband, Gary, Sherry decided to gather information on museums in her area, hoping that other people might find her research helpful. The project expanded to a na­tionwide search across all branches of service, and quickly evolved into this comprehensive guide book. While not intended to be a com­plete list of every military museum in the United States, it is a well-curated guide to select museums, monuments and me­morials which may be of particular inter­est to those with a passion for preserving history-especially veterans.
