Methods of potato breeding

Thousands of years of breeding lie behind the cultivated potato Solanum tuberosum L., which is now one of the most important food crops in the world. The first part of the book describes the genetic characteristics of the potato and its wild relatives. It then goes on to clarify the requirements for modern potato breeding of edible, refined and commercial varieties and the methods used to shorten and refine the breeding process.
