Mercury Prepared

Mercury Prepared by Brock Purtell is a deeply personal and poetic exploration of love, longing, and loss, set against the backdrop of the iconic Mercury Café. Through a collection divided by elemental themes-Water, Fire, Earth, and Air-the poems chart the emotional terrain of relationships as they evolve, unravel, and leave their mark. Each piece pulses with intimacy, offering raw glimpses into moments of connection, betrayal, grief, and fleeting joy.As the narrator navigates the seasons of the heart, the collection becomes an act of reflection, confronting past choices and hidden truths. Yet within the sorrow, there is a thread of resilience-a refusal to remain broken, a determination to understand. Ultimately, Mercury Prepared is about transformation: how love, even when painful or imperfect, becomes a catalyst for growth, healing, and the rediscovery of self.
